Junior's Shooting will resume September 11th, 2023.
This is unquestionably the best bargain in the area for youth entertainment and growth. For a small fee, youth ages 8 to 20 are trained, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential. Included in this fee is use of ALL the equipment required to participate, including quality shooting equipment consisting of precision Anschutz .22 caliber rifles, ammunition, spotting scopes, mats, and ear & eye protection. The fact that trained personnel, many who are highly accomplished shooters, coaches the youth makes the program even more attractive.
To sign up, just bring your youth to one of the Monday night sessions. They can register on the spot and join the fun. The Junior Program schedule follows the Western Placer Unified School District calendar and a link to the calendar is in the drop-down menu above. The program runs September through May with the actual dates varying by year. The schedule begins at the Dillman Range for the first few weeks in September and then moves to the Indoor Range for the bulk of the season before going back to Dillman Range in May to end the year.
Whether your child is interested in "plinking” or becoming an Olympic champion, they will be trained in firearm safety and handling procedures and coached on basic to advanced shooting techniques. Each shooter is allowed to progress at their own pace and encouraged to have fun in the process. The club has had more than its share of success in training top shooters; including more than one age-group world record and several of our shooters have received college scholarships in the last few years.
